2 Periods Not Enough
The Falcons played a pair of pre-Chrismas games against Oakville and Flamborough last and, although they dominated each game for a period of time, they gave up a bad period in each of the contests and came away with a pair of losses.

Tuesday night the Falcons hosted the league leading Oakville Rangers at Bill Burgoyne arena.  The Falcons came out flying and struck first, with Luca Mucciarelli getting an unassisted goal in the first period.  Solid team defence along with excellent goaltending by Anna Corfield helped the Falcons hold on to a 1-0 lead through the end of the second period.  Despite having several very good chances, the tam was unable to put any more goals on the board.

A lapse in defence allowed the league leaders to capitalize in the third, however, and Oakville stormed back with 5 goals (one empty net) in the third period to take the win.

The next day the Falcons travelled to Flamborough to take on the Sabres and had a similar performance.  The team got off to a terrible start, with bad team defence resulting in Flamborough scoring 4 goals in the first period and the Falcons trailing 4-0 at the end of the frame.

The team showed very good resiliency and battled back, with Alex Caiazza getting the team on the board with an unassisted goal early in the second period.  Malik Moore would make it 4-2 just a few minutes later on a backhand goal assisted by Simon Sciarra.

The Falcons thought that they had come within one goal early in the third period on a goal that was called back on a high stick, and were unable to get any closer.  The Sabres would add a late goal making the final 5-2.

The team is hoping to string together 3 full periods at the Oakville tournament next week!
