The Falcons were in tough yesterday, as a hot Calendon team travelled to St. Catharines for a big game in the Tri County playoffs. Under the bright lights of the Meridian Center, the Falcons were able to open the scoring in the first, with Nathan L scoring a goal off the rush. The Falcons would have their lead erased, as Caledon would tie the game at 1 as we headed into the third period.
The Falcons had a big third period, as they came out guns a blazing. After a nice little lob pass from Brandon, Sacha would beat the Caledon D and drive the net, scoring a very nice goal to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead. After a nice pass from Dom in the corner, Nathan DiP would tap home another goal, followed by Quin's powerplay goal giving the Falcons a 4-1 lead. The Falcons then had to kill off 6 penalty minutes late in the third period, and would go on to win a 4-2 game.
A solid outing from the Falcons as we battled hard and were able to use our speed to spread out the ice and wear down Caledon. Excellent passing and puck movement lead to several scoring chances for the Falcons, and a strong forcheck were also huge factors in the win.
