How do I complete this write up after such a crazy weekend? We go from blowing a couple of leads, fighting back in one of those games, playing our best game of the year, playing really well and really scared at times... CRAZYNESS.

Game 1: 6-3 Loss vs. Honeybaked
the Falcons came out flying to start the tournament, scoring 3 teams in the first period and playing one of our, if not our best period of hockey in a long time. However, the second period blues came back to bite us, as we allowed Honey baked to tie the game up at 3 as we headed into the third period. The Falcons did respond getting a ton of shots in the third period to allow ourselves a chance to win, however a couple of bad plays in our zone and not being able to take advantage of a late 5 on 3 powerplay, lead the Falcons to a defeat at the hands of a team that we could have beat.

Game 2: 2-1 Win vs. North Bay Trappers
In what will go down as our best game to date in the season, the Falcons completely dominated this game, outshooting the Trappers 33-19, along with badly outchancing the Trappers. The Falcons were able to use our speed to beat defenders wide and generate some good scoring chances. The best part about this game was that each period we played, the Falcons played better, and we didn't take a shift off the entire game. Very strong game from everyone around, and we stayed alive in the tournament with this victory.

Game 3: 4-4 Tie vs. Vaughan Rangers
After speaking with the Rangers Head Coach after the game, the Rangers are the #6 team in the GTHL, and considering that and how the GTHL is the TOUGHEST AA league in Ontario, I will take the 4-4 tie, however not the way we got there.
The Falcons came out flying in the first period, with a couple of snipes by Colton and some dirty dangles by George to get a 3-0 lead after 1. The Falcons would fall back a bit in the second period, however would hold a 3-2 lead going into the third period. A couple of tough breaks, started by the Falcons not playing aggressive enough in the defensive zone would allow the Rangers to pull out to a 4-3 lead late in the third. However, with under a minute to play and off an icing call, Aidan would win the draw right to Colton who fired home his hatrick goal, giving the Falcons the 4-4 tie.

Overall: 1-1-1 in the tournament and could have easily gone 3-0. The Falcons need to work on not slowing down in the second period, and being tougher in the defensive zone. However, great strides were taken this weekend, as the Falcons continued to improve our play, and learn new things such as transitions pivots during key situations in the game. It sucks that we were 1 overall point away from moving on to the semi finals, but that goes to show the importance of playing three hard periods. When we do, we get games like the one vs. the Trappers, where we completely dominate the entire game.

Players of the Game:
Game 1: not awarded

Game 3: Colton
