The OHF recently changed the guidelines regarding player movement across all levels of hockey in Ontario. OHF Player movement information:  https://www.omha.net/news_article/show/1326359

U18 & U21 tryouts will be held in the Fall. Tryouts are FREE

TRYOUT SCHEDULE - WILL BE AT ON THE ASSOCIATION CALENDAR.  ASSOCIATION CALENDAR

BEFORE TRYOUT

All players MUST be registered for tryouts using the Hockey Canada / Spordle link on our website.

Please ensure that your email information in your Spordle profile is accurate. Coaches will be using the primary email to send any tryout information, as well as offers link, where appropriate, so this being accurate is important.

·   If you have any trouble accessing your player's Spordle account/profile, please DO NOT create a new profile for them...this only complicates things on the Hockey Canada/OMHA end, and delays the process of getting them registered.  If your child has played on a hockey team in the past they already have a Hockey Canada profile.

  • Please register as soon as possible, IN ADVANCE of the first day of tryouts. Registering in advance ensures that coaches can make the proper plans for the session, and ensures that there will be no issues that would prevent a player from participating in tryouts.
  • Tryout scheduled dates, time, arena are posted on the GCMHA Calendar on our website.
  • During Tryouts:
Players must go to the rink that is scheduled. The coach (their associate) will confirm that the player is on their list (has registered in Spordle) prior to giving them their numbered tryout jersey.  No players will be given a tryout jersey without being registered through Spordle.
  • AFTER EACH TRYOUT
  • All players will receive communication directly from their coach, either in person, by email or by letter, at the conclusion of each tryout date to determine whether they are:

a.      being offered a spot on the team

b.      being released from that category tryouts.

  • If they do not receive either of the above, they are expected to be at the next tryout.
