Regular Season Game 5
The Warriors battled back to the .500 mark with a strong 3-2 win over Grimsby tonight.
After a good first period, the Warriors blew open a 3-1 lead after two periods. While Grimsby made it interesting late, scoring to make it 3-2, the Warriors won to go 2-2-1 i the regular season.
Positives from the game: The white line (Morgan, Noah C, and Daniel) had a very strong game in their first game as an offensive unit. Our defensive coverage was good during the first two periods as we limited Grimsby to 12 shots after two periods. Very nice to see some dump and chasing through the neutral zone, and improved backchecking today. Solid game from Benny in goal tonight
Things to improve on: We were only able to go 1/5 on the Powerplay, as often we sat back on our heels. The addition of Noah B on the PP will continue to help us moving forward. We gave up 12 shots in the third alone (which was our total from the first and second combined) and we need to not be scrambling late in games. Also, our forwards need to know when to begin to backcheck and our D need to be stronger in front of our net.
Stats:
Morgan 1G 2A
Noah C 1G 2A
Daniel 1G 1A
