Roll On Down The Highway
Your St Catharines Jr Novice Falcons went rollin' down the highway to meet the Niagara Falls Flyers in Friday night action. Lukas Goodbrand would be more then ready as he was flashing the leather all night and made a huge glove save early in the first period to keep the Flyers off the board. The Falcons offence would respond as they would go down the ice and take the lead off a goal scored by Zach Grossi and assisted by Luca Mucciarelli and Conner Shields. The goal of the game was scored by the Falcons sly Center, Luca Mucciarelli, as he would score off the face off timing the drop perfectly and catching the Flyers goalie off guard. Falcons would take a 2-0 lead into the second period. The Flyers weren't done and battled back to tie the game 2-2.
2nd period was a more gritty affair, as both teams would take 2 penalties each, but neither team would be able to capitalize on the power plays. In the 3rd period the Flyers were determined to make things interesting and would score 2 goals of their own, both sides had chances to win but the goalies made key saves for their side.
