Tyke 2 Falcons
The Tyke 2 Falcons Team of 2017-2018 has had an amazing year and no one knows about our boys. This is a team of 7 and 8 year old boys (not to mention couple of under-agers) who have persevered through early morning practices, often on the ice 30 minutes before practice started, just to get some extra ice time. Who have played against teams that are clearly in a skill level above their own, yet they tried hard every single game. Who sometimes lost games by more that 15 goals - yet came out of the locker room smiling. Who gave it their all at a tournament in which we knew we did not have a chance.
These boys have learned to take a knee to support their team mates, to congratulate each other on the odd occasion when a goal was scored and to support their goalie no matter what the score. Despite not winning one game all season, no one ever gave up and the only tears that were shed were after the playoffs this weekend when they realized their season was done and that there was no more hockey to play. Hats off to these young men who, in my opinion, have demonstrated a true love of the game and who embraced the spirit of sportsmanship and team! We're Red. We're White. We're Dynamite.
