The game may have ended 7-2 in favour of the visiting Thorold Blackhawks but that scoreline did not tell the tale, as Falcons defenseman Jack Dolch, playing goal for the vacationing Quinton Burkley, stopped 19 of 26 shots in a scintillating performance!
Many of the shots Dolch faced were of the difficult variety and he was calm, cool and collected in his first ever rep game in goal. Way to go Jack!!!
The seriously shorthanded Falcons, who were also without Quinton's twin brother Preston, played with ten skaters and credit also goes to
Chase Dayaram and
Charlie Barnowski, who regularly play forward for the team but moved back to defense for this game.
Falcons goals were scored by
Ben Grohnwald and
Rhys McAdam, with assists being credited to
Evan Bosela (2),
Charlie Barnowski and
Sam Evangelista.
The Falcons are back in action on Friday night, as they host the Niagara Falls Flyers at Seymour-Hannah. Game time is 5:55pm.
