Minor Bantam A's Finish Third in Glanbrook Tournament
The GCMHA Minor Bantam A Falcon's put in a strong defensive performance allowing just 8 goals in 5 games in the Glanbrook Tournament this weekend. Ben Brendzy and AP goaltender Jake Bagozzi each had a shutout in the preliminary round as the Falcons defeated Riverside (Windsor) and Niagara Falls by identical 2-0 scores. The Falcons dropped close games to Ancaster (2-0) and Glanbrook AA's (4-2).
On the tiebreaker the Falcons had the edge over Cumberland and Riverside and would finish the preliminary round third out of seven teams.
The Semi-Final saw the Falcons once again face Ancaster. The Falcons played well but in the end Ancaster squeaked out another 2-0 victory.
Glanbrook AA's defeated Cumberland 4-0 in the other Semi-Final and went on to defeat Ancaster 2-1 in the Championship Game.
