Game 11: 5-2 W vs. Oakville

There were several reasons as to why the Falcons could have lost on Saturday: no Patrick, Hensley sick, Dylan coming back from injury and being throw into the deep end vs the #1 team in our division, having to use forwards to play defense.

Instead, the Falcons played one of our best games of the season.

The Falcons were challenged pre game to show up ready to play, and to have a good first period. The Falcons ended up having a GREAT first period, completely dominating Oakville.

George opened the scoring almost 3 minutes into the game, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Rangers would score 40 seconds later to tie up the game at 1, not before Alex T slammed home a loose puck 11 seconds after the Rangers goal to regain a lead. Preston would then score our third goal of the period off a good forecheck which caused the Ranger player to turn the puck over, allowing Preston to snipe.

The Rangers would play better in the second period, especially early, as they caught the Falcons flat footed a few times and were able to generate some good scoring chances. Lukas had to make some big saves to keep the game close for us, especially after the Rangers made it a 3-2 game. However, mid way through the second the Falcons regained out composure and were able to generate some scoring chances of our own, including Zach G getting ROBBED point blank in the slot.

In the third period, the Falcons and Rangers battled hard, however the Falcons were able to limit the Rangers to only 5 shots on goal in the period, in a 15 minute period I might add. Excellent defensive play, and clearing the front of the net, and a strong back check kept the Rangers from tying the game up.

Ovi would ice the game when he would hit the empty net from his own blue line to give us a 4-2 lead. Preston would later add his 2nd goal of the game, off another goodforcheck where Preston stole the puck and went in alone and snipped on the Rangers goalie

Excellent game by so many players but here our some to highlight
Alex T/Caedan- both engaged physically in this game
Mitchell- really focused on the areas of his game that need improvement- solid game
Chad- didn't throw the puck away :) :)
Hensley- for showing some guts and battling through illness to have a solid game
Dylan- not bad for his first game in a while

Player of the Game: Aidan

*Aidan was given the responsibility of shutting down the other teams best player # 79. Not only did Aidan accept this challenge, he knocked it out of the park as he completely shut down the other teams best player. Not only did Aidan outplay them, but he was able to set up the opening goal too! This is the type of effort that if everyone played with this much heart, we will crush teams
