Game 9 vs. Oakville: 1-0 W
The Falcons had a very bad start to the game, as we were outplayed in the first period, being outshot 8-2. Lukas came to play however and is the sole reason why the Falcons were able to get back into the game. We didn't move our feet in the first period, and were hemmed in our end for the majority of the period.
After a slow start in the second period, about half way through the Falcons began to wake up and start playing hockey. Lukas made some more good saves to start the period, and then we started to get our own scoring chances. Most importantly, a few of the kids who had a poor start really hammered down and started to pull their weight and drive the play.
The third period saw the Falcons play our best period of the game, outshooting Oakville 8-5 in the period. The key in this period was that we started to make some good plays with our sticks, and were able to pressure the Rangers players. Aidan did a solid job shutting down the Rangers top offensive player in this period, matching up with him really well.
The Falcons would take the lead for good when Ovi had a strong forecheck and was able to get the puck to George, who was able to slam it home for the lad, which we wouldn't give up.
