Falcon's Soar to a Championship
After an Up and down start to our weekend In Lincoln, the boys came up big in the crunch..
In a championship game that was a rematch of an earlier loss, We found ourselves down 1-0 after controlling the game from the drop of the puck. As is usually the case, we had an unlucky bounce that ended up in a breakaway goal.. In a tight game the difference was resolve and The boy's had plenty. Non stop 3rd period pressure drew not 1, but 4, penalties as the Blades couldn't keep their cool. After having a goal called back late in the game, the falcon's didn't fold.. instead they stepped it up again and a beautiful goal from Nathan parked in front with 2:02 left put us square.. This game was going to overtime.. after opportunities for both teams in the extra stanza but no goals it was going to be decided by Penalty shots... As parents chattered around nervous, none more so than the goalies I'm sure, they lined up.. A goal by none other than our MVP Nathan on the 3rd shot left it up to Brennan to stop the last shot and bring it home...Which he did as he had the previous 2 to shut the door.. Game Falcon's..
A Successful weekend for the team bodes well as we get the meat of the regular season underway this week.. Big Thanks to the coaches for a job well done and the players for coming together as team.
