Falcons Continue to Roll
Sunday evening the Minor Atom AA Falcons travelled to Brampton for the second half of a home-and-home series against the Brampton 45's. Overcoming a slow start with a great team effort in the second and third period, the Falcons came home with a 5-2 win extending their win streak to four games.
The Home team 45's got off to a spirited start, and thanks to some excellent goaltending from Anna Corfield, the Falcons were fortunate to escape the first period trailing only 1-0.
Showing strong resiliency, the Falcons roared back in the second period - scoring four goals in less than five minutes to take a commanding 4-1 lead. Malik Moore got the Falcons on the board, with singles also coming from Simon Sciarra, Sebastian Hayward and Alex Caiazza in the period. The teams would trade goals in the third period with Sebastian Hayward collecting his second goal of the game. The net result was a 5-2 win and extended the Falcons win streak to four straight.
Assists in the game went to Aidan Johnson (2), Dylan Rawson, Luca Mucciarelli, Caeden Minda, Simon Sciarra, Alex Caiazza, Malik Moore and Alex Thai. Anna Corfield made several great saves to keep the Falcons in the game, helped by strong defensive performances from Hensley O'Hara, Patrick O'Farrell and Chad Canter.
