Tough One
On Saturday the Falcons travelled down the QEW to do battle with the second place Burlington Eagles. Despite a sound defensive effort and controlling the play for most of the game, the Falcons were only able to convert on one of their many chances and fell in a 2-1 loss.
Goalie Cohen Corbett continued his hot play in goal with a great performance and he was assisted by another strong game from the defence that helped limit the Burlington opportunities.
Alex Thai opened the scoring for the Falcons on a goal assisted by Dylan Rawson and Simon Sciarra. The Falcons would take a 1-0 lead into the second period but had a brief defensive lapse which allowed the Eagles to score two goals in the frame.
Despite several great chances including two breakaways, the Falcons were unable to muster any more offence for the game.
Next up the Falcons return home for a date with the Niagara Falls Flyers on Tuesday the 12th - 7PM @ Bill Burgoyne.
