Falcons Drop Two
The Falcons played one game at home and one away this week and were unable to come away with a win, dropping a 5-2 decision to Niagara Falls at home and 3-1 on the road in Guelph.
Tuesday night the Niagara Falls Flyers came to town and gave the Falcons all they could handle. Goalie Anna Corfield played a solid game but the Falcons took some untimely penalties leading to three Flyers power play goals. The Flyers would score 5 goals in total including one on the empty net.
"Player of the Game" Luca Mucciarelli scored the first goal for the Falcons on an assist from Malik Moore. Alex Thai got the second goal with assists from Sebastian Hayward and Aidan Johnson.
Thursday the Falcons made the trip to Guelph. In a hard fought game they again failed to come out on top, leaving with a 3-1 loss. "Player of the Game" Simon Sciarra had the lone Falcons goal assisted by Luca Mucciarelli, making it a 2-1 game with just over two minutes remaining. The Gryphons would reply, however and the game ended 3-1 in their favour. Goalie Cohen Corbett had another strong game, keeping the Falcons close until the very end.
Next, the Falcons take on their parents Saturday night at Jack Gatecliff arena, followed by a team trip to the Ice Dogs game.
