Regular Season Game 23
As the regular season nears a close, the Falcons battled Burlington Gold tonight.

The Falcons battled hard vs a tough Burlington Gold team tonight. A very strong defensive game played by everyone helped hold Burlington to 2 shots on goal, which is our lowest amount of shots given up to them all season. The Falcons relied on good positioning and improved execution in our breakout to keep Burlington from generating high quality scoring chances throughout the game. It also helps have Lucas continue to play well in goal, stopping 19 of 20 shots.
Offensively, the Falcons were unable to score, despite having some good chances to score throughout the game. The Falcons were for once able to hem the Burlington Gold team in their end throughout the game, as we used an improved forecheck to keep the puck in the offensive zone, along with having our D be active on the walls which allowed us to keep the puck in. An improvement to be made is on our zone entries, as at times we were too focused on dangling a few players instead of head manning the puck, or putting shots on goal with a good net crash.
Despite the 1-0 loss, the Falcons had their fourth straight good game, despite the recent losses. The way we are playing is improving, which will lead to victories down the road once we make some offensive adjustments.
