OMHA Prelims Game 1
A slow start head the Falcons back from playing a complete game...

After a slow start, the Falcons fell behind 2-0 in the second period, due to a lack of aggression, especially on the forecheck. The Falcons were unable to generate good pressure, and played some soft hockey in the neutral zone and the defensive zone. However, the Falcons were able to open up our play later in the second period, which lead to a few chances, however we trailed 2-0 after 2.
The Falcons got on the board with about 7 minutes to go, when Isaac (playing his second game with the AA's) was able to slam home the loose puck to cut the lead to 1. The Falcons then had an all out blitz on Halton, which lead to the a power play with 5 minutes late in the third period. After a good zone entry from Brandon, Lukas T was able to make a strong play on the forcheck to get it out front to Sacha, who tied the game up. The Falcons would continue to blitz Halton late in the third period, generating several chances on goal. However, after two periods, the Falcons remained tied.
In the overtime period, the Falcons were able to generate quite a few good scoring chances, including what looked to be the game winner when Nathan DiP looked to have tucked the puck under the cross bar. However, after a no goal call, the Falcons skated to a 2-2 tie vs. Halton.
Moving forward, the Falcons need to show up at the start of the game, which is exactly what was stressed pre-game today. We need to control the game early so we don't have to play catch up.
