Game 3: 3-2 Loss @ Oakville

After a rough start, the Falcons found themselves down 2-0 early, as we did not come out ready to play. We were unable to get much offensive at all in the first period, and struggled to bring our A game. A couple of bad breaks lead to a few goals against that we would like to have back, and the Falcons fell behind 2-0. The Falcons were able to score late in the first period, after Quin won a board battle where he got the puck to Evan, who after a shot on goal followed up his own rebound to tap home the loose puck. Oakville would move ahead in the second period, scoring off a Falcon turnover, to gain a 3-1 lead. However, the Falcons dominated the second and third periods, as we really brought the heat to the Rangers, as we generated tons of scoring chances and limited Oakville to 9 shots on goal between the second and third period combined! Dom was able to tap home a loose puck to make the game 3-2, however the Falcons were unable to tie the game, losing game 1 of the home and home.

In a game were the odds were stacked against the Falcons, we came out and dominated play the entire game, having one of our best games of the season.
The Falcons were in tough, without Kian and Lucas S on D. Owen played extremely well in their absence, as did all of our D group.
Despite going down 1-0 mid way through the first period, the Falcons were able to tie the game up quickly, when Nate D was able to tap home the loose puck on a wrap around from Brandon. This goal seemed to spark the Falcons, as we did not let Oakville back into the game, as we scored 4 more goals to win 5-1! We dominated the 5 on 5 play, and went 3/4 on the penalty kill tonight. Goals from Brandon, Nate Dit (2), Dom and a beauty by Sacha late in the third lead the way offensively for the Falcons.
We were able to have an extremely strong forcheck tonight, as our forwards pinned Oakville deep in their own end several times throughout the game, which lead to several scoring chances. The Brandon, Lukas T and Nate Dit line really lead the way, dominating the majority of the game. Most importantly, the Falcons combined FOCUS EFFORT TONIGHT, which is something that coaching staff has been preaching all season.
