Playoffs Game 3 vs. Welland
Submitted By Danny Amodeo on Sat 03 04, 17
Another intense game vs a hungry Welland Tigers team tonight

The Falcons came out playing strong in the first period, limiting the Tigers to only 2 shots on goal. The Falcons had their work cut for them in the second period, as Welland came out strong, generating several good scoring chances. The Falcons were able to get to a 3-2 lead after 2 periods, with goals from Adam W, Carter D, and Owen. The Tigers continued to pressure the Falcons in the third, however by improving our defensive play as the game went on, the Falcons were able to limit good Tiger chances. Ben A, playing in his best game of the season, scored our 4th goal as we took a 4-2 lead late into the period. The Tigers made it interesting, scoring with 35 seconds left to get the score to 4-3, however we were able to hold onto the victory.

The Falcons played a strong game on the penalty kill tonight, going 5/5 on the PK. We need to limit our time in the box however moving forward, as we play Lincoln on Monday to hopefully move onto the NDHL A Division Championship series.

A special shoutout to Connor B tonight, who not only played well getting 2 assists, but volunteered to serve a 5 minute penalty for his team mate. The entire coaching staff is extremely proud to see such a great example of being a team player! Damn proud of Connor B!
