Minor PeeWee 'A' Jr Falcons Extend Winning Streak to 4
The Minor PeeWee 'A' Jr Falcons extended their winning streak to 4 games as they defeated the Lincoln Blades AE team 6-3 tonight at Bill Burgoyne Arena. The Falcons started strong with a 3 goal first period as the newly formed line of Connor Burke, Ben Armstrong, and Adam Weber capitalized for all three first period tallies. Weber started things off with a nice goal on a cross crease pass from Connor Burke. Burke scored the Jr. Falcons second goal on the same shift just 29 seconds later. No assists were credited for that goal nor the 3rd goal of the first period potted by Armstrong.
The Jr. Falcons went ahead 4-0 part way through the second period on Armstrong's second goal of the game. The lone assist went to Weber. Lincoln finally scored their first goal of the game near the end of the second period. The period ended with the Jr. Falcon's up 4-1.
The Jr. Falcons made it 5-1 early in the third on Weber's second goal of the game with the assist going to Armstrong. The Lincoln team didn't give up though and scored two third period goals in a comeback attempt. However, with 38 seconds remaining in the game Myles Radersma scored an empty net goal assisted by Owen Bartel and Eric Venneri. Final score Jr. Falcons 6 - Lincoln Blades AE's 3
In net for the Jr. Falcons Adam Arsenault stopped 22 shots and was particularly good at smothering loose pucks in close. The Jr. Falcons managed 25 shots on the Lincoln net.
The win moves the Jr. Falcons to within one win of second place overall and just 6 points out of first in the NDHL.
