Brendzy's Shutout Gains Jr. Falcons a Share of Second Place
Ben Brendzy stopped all 17 shots by the Lincoln Blades AE team and in doing so helped lead the Jr. Falcons Minor PeeWee A Team to a 9-0 victory which moved the Jr. Falcons into a share of second place in the PeeWee Belcot Division of the NDHL.
Also helping was Adam Weber with 3 Goals, Pierce McMeekin with 2 goals, and Eric Venneri, Owen Bartel, Ben Armstrong, and Connor Burke all with singles. In the Assist department Burke had 4, Ben Armstrong 3, while Robbie Denham, Myles Radersma, and Dan Demontigny each had 2. Single Assists were given to Venneri and Owen White.
Of Note, McMeekin's first goal was a short handed marker as Robbie Denham chipped the puck out past a Lincoln point man and sent McMeekin in on a breakway. Adam Weber's third goal came just 43 seconds into a power play after some superb puck control by the Jr. Falcons.
The Jr. Falcons outshot Lincoln AE by a margin of 31-17. The Falcons outscored their opponents 3-0 in the first, 2-0 in the second, and 4-0 in the third.
Up next for the Falcons is a home game vs the first place Welland Tigers this coming Saturday at 6:15pm at Bill Burgoyne arena.
