Two Natural Hat Tricks Not Enough
Two natural hat tricks were not enough to win as the Minor PeeWee A Jr Falcons dropped a seesaw battle to the Welland Cougars 8-7 Saturday evening at Bill Burgoyne arena. Both Adam Weber and Ben Armstrong scored natural hat tricks for the Falcons who were on fire in the First period when Ben Armstrong scored all three of his goals to put the Falcons up 3-0. The Falcons scored first in the second period to go up 4-0. However Welland scored 3 unanswered goals to close to within a goal. Adam Weber scored two late period goals as the Falcons entered the third period up 5-3.

Welland scored four unanswered third period goals to go up 7-5. Two quick goals including a short handed goal by Owen Bartel of the Jr Falcons knotted the game at 7. However on the same power play and with just 1:25 remaining in the game Welland took the lead for good. The final score was Welland Tigers 8 - Falcons 7.

Assists were awarded to Colton Rothney and Dan Demontigny with 2 each, and Armstrong and Burke with 1 each.

Ben Brendzy made 20 saves. Welland outshot the Falcons 28-22.

The Falcons wanted to win this game for one of their teammates, Brennen Bilotta, who had his appendix out Friday night. Major Atom defenceman William Denham filled in and had a good game being +1 on the night.

Up next for the Falcons is a Wednesday night game at the Seymour Hannah Centre at 7:00pm vs the Niagara Falls AE team.

GO FALCONS!!!!!
