Forward Robbie Denham Earns Win in Goal
With both goalies out with the flu, and three other regulars out with various ailments, the Minor PeeWee A Jr Falcons played their best defensive game of the year to earn an 8-6 victory over the Niagara Falls AE team. Every player made a commitment to strong defensive play and in doing so held the opposition to a total of only 12 shots on net for the entire game. While that certainly made Denham's job in goal easier he did make some very good saves. Denham usually plays forward. However, with both goalies out with the flu and their AP goalie unavailable Denham was selected to play net. The Jr Falcons had 30 shots on the Niagara Falls net.
Myles Radersma lead the way offensively with 4 assists. Adam Weber had 2 assists with single assists going to Eric Venneri, Ben Armstrong, Owen Bartel, Ty Winstanley, and Carter Gates. Armstrong, Venneri, and Connor Burke each scored 2 goals with singles going to Radersma and Gates.
AP defencman William Denham had another strong game playing a regular shift as the Falcons only had four of their defensemen in the lineup.
Up next for the Falcons is a game vs the Grimsby Minors on January 23rd. The 10 days rest couldn't come at a better time. Hopefully all ailing players will be back in the lineup at that time.
