Minor PeeWee 'A' Jr. Falcons Finish Strong
The GCMHA Minor PeeWee 'A' Team finished the regular season tonight with a strong performance resulting in a 5-1 victory over the Grimsby PeeWee AE team at Peach King Arena in Grimsby. The 5 goals gave the Jr. Falcons a total of 164 for the season. Strong defensive play has also been a factor and was evident again tonight as they held the opposition to only 8 shots on net for the entire game.
A combination of hard work, systems, and recognizing when creativity over rides these systems has made it a successful season.  Supporting and trusting each other at all times and a high compete level by everyone have also had a significant impact. The team finshed with a record of 17-8-3. Well done Falcons!

Adam Arsenault was between the pipes tonight and stifled any attempt by the opposition by freezing the puck whenever it was within his reach.

Ben Armstrong started the scoring just one minute into the game on a great individual effort. After the Grimsby AE's tied things up, the first period ended 1-1. The Jr. Falcons then scored four unanswered goals. Owen Bartel finished off a nice play with the assist going to Eric Venneri. Myles Radersma scored with the assists going to Brennen Bilotta and Bartel. Venneri then found the back of the net with assists credited to Colton Rothney and Radersma. The final goal was a beautiful "by the book" tip in by Owen White with line mates Armstrong and Pierce McMeekin picking up the assists.

Another highlight of the night was when Robbie Denham up ended Grimsby's tallest player as they battled for a loose puck.

Final shots on net were 23 - 8 in favour of the Junior Falcons. After the game one of the officials paid the players a compliment as he told the coaching staff "you have a very good skating team".

Up next for the Jr. Falcons is the Niagara District OMHA playdowns this weekend.

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
